With the adoption of the Southampton Safety Plan in May of 2017, the Safety Committee began meeting in even months (General Meetings are held in odd months) and are scheduled on Saturday morning instead of a weeknight.  The meetings are normally held on Saturday from 10 AM to Noon in the Buder Library on Hampton.  Based on Library requirements, these meetings can only be scheduled 1-2 months out.

The purpose of a separate meeting is to provide extra time to discuss crime, traffic safety, and sidewalk safety issues as well as providing a needed resource for the Block Contacts who are the vital "eyes and ears" of the neighborhood.  Emerging problems can be discussed in depth to arrive at working action plans--and to provide support as needed.

Meetings are expected to resume when a Chair is selected for the Safety Committee.
