Southampton Traffic Studies

Traffic studies in Southampton were completed in 2003 and 2017.  The 2003 study is presented as an historical document since it was never implemented.  The traffic study presented in 2017 was funded jointly from the Ward 14 and Ward 16 Capital Improvement Fund and was a thorough review of traffic patterns and issues throughout Southampton.  The study was completed by CBB using data collection, focus groups, and several public meetings hosted by the Southampton Neighborhood Association.  One element was an on-line survey completed by neighbors that had a participation rate equivalent to small cities in Missouri.  The final presentation was made to the City elected alders and staff in March 2017.  The first implementation was funded by Ward 16 Alderman Tom Oldenburg and is being completed in the Summer of 2018.  In 2019, a traffic study for the Hampton-Chippewa corridor was completed and is pending neighbor comment in August 2020. In 2020. In 2020 a portion of the eastern border of our neighborhood was the subject of a traffic study along Kingshighway from Nottingham to Gravois.
