The all-volunteer Landscaping Committee has taken on the responsibility of the public (city-owned) spaces within Southampton. This is an education and beautification effort to provide landscapes that use native plants in an inspiring and interesting way. No pesticides are used so insects, butterflies in all of their stages, and wildlife can be encouraged in our urban area. As these spaces are developed, neighbors can identify native plants that would prove useful in their own residential spaces.
