Buder Wedge

One of the three pocket landscaping triangles along Wherry is located west of the Buder School along Macklind.  The point of the triangle is the meeting point of Wherry Avenue and Macklind Avenue.  The space is dominated by an American Elm tree with two Littleleaf Lindens along Wherry Avenue.  It too almost a year of planning but in 2014, well-known St.Louis artist Jeff Kapfer was engaged to paint a mural on the north side of the 5401 Lansdowne building. The purpose was to beautify the Macklind Avenue Business District and an initiative to encourage more pedestrian traffic to Macklind establishments. In 2022, the mural was unexpectedly and mysteriously removed when the building was painted.
