The Hampton/Chippewa Technology Project is a new neighborhood safety initiative spearheaded by Alderman Tom Oldenburg, the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, local business owners and area residents. Visit Tom's site for an overview of the project. Be sure to visit the Real Time Crime Center webpage for more information about the camera network
Since 1922, the Southampton Neighborhood Association has championed projects that would enhance the experience of the organizations, businesses and residents who call Southampton home. Having broad neighborhood participation in a project with direct donations as well as the proceeds of our annual fundraiser event is an important goal. The Board and our growing membership (all unpaid volunteers with financial support from our voluntary annual member dues) enthusiastically agreed to support this project. Direct cash donations are being encouraged and the net proceeds of our annual Trivia Night fundraiser will go to the Camera Fund.
NOTE: Donations are being made to the St Louis Police Foundation, a 501(c) 3 organization and you will receive acknowledgment of your donation for tax purposes.
In November 2018, our members enthusiastically agreed to make the Hampton/Chippewa Technology Project the recipient of the net proceeds of our 2019 Trivia Night Fundraiser. As of March 2019, the net proceeds are expected to be $4500 or higher...just awaiting final bills. Also in March is the Chili Cook-Off at St. Gabriel's Cafeteria, 4711 Tamm, on March 31 from noon to 3:30 PM. More fundraisers are planned.
